I like to draw. Every kids has tons of amibitions and dreams. When I was in Primary school, my very 1st wish is to become an artist/illustrator. That is my dream even until now. But guess, living in this practical world kills my ambition. Well, at least it will be my hobby. Hopefully, someone will appreciate me.

It gets a bit demoralizing that even my friends don't comment in my blog. Most likely, they don't even read it. I had thought about closing it. Never mind. I'll keep this blog like my diary.

Last week, there was this news about a rat on the North-East Line. AsiaOne

My friend and I had different views.

Friend: Yikes! I heard that there was a rat on the train.
Me: I heard that too.
Friend: So scary.
Me: Lucky is not lizard.
Friend: Rats are worse.
Me: Rats are the bigger and long tail version of a hamster. (ps. I had hamsters as pet)
Friend: Oh my god! Rats are super dirty and may carry disease. And they can bite!
Me: Lizards make me scream. Rats don't. (I know this does not apply to most people)
Friend: ...... (ignore me)

People were wondering how the rat got on the train. I was wondering where it wants to go to. Sentosa? Its a fun place to visit.

It is Sunday. We went to The Central for our ramen dinner. After drinking a cup of milk tea with pearls, I wasn't feeling hungry, and maybe that's the reason I didn't find the ramen fantastic.

I've ordered soyu ramen. The noodles are a bit thick, so is the charsiew. And I don't like bamboo shoots. People become more chosey as they grow older. sigh...

And we ordered the egg. It is surppose to look like this. Fully cooked whites with half cooked yolks. But the restaurant didn't have QA control. My egg yolk is almost fully cooked. Quite disappointed.

After the dinner, we had a walk along Clark Quay.

Bokeh?

I love this long bean with XO sauce. It tasted so good.

Roast meat tasted good. But seems a bit over priced. This 9 little pieces of meat cost $9.

Well, it costed $1.17 each.

I was clearing my leave, and thus went to Marina Bay to take photo. It was after lunch time, and the sun is right above. Super hot. But I manage to have a beautiful blue sky as the background.

Jun : Come out, don't be shy.

Jun : Come on. You are a super zoom camera.

Jun : I SAY COME OUT!

Something is terribly wrong with my Lumix FZ28. It is suppose to have this impressive 18 times zoom. But all of a sudden, it refuse to work.

Well, maybe I should say, it decides to change its job. The level that controls the zooming in and out has now started a new position as the shutter. It is now taking pictures instead of zooming. The thing is, my shutter button did not swap it's job with the zoom level. Meaning, the camera can't zoom at all. This is weird.

I wonder if it would decides to change back if I leave it alone for a while.... I doubt so.

This little bunny is a Xmas gift from me to me. Her name is Jun Mihara, a character from some PS3 game.

Jun knows how to enjoy life. A bite of sushi and a sip of hot green tea. Haaa... Shiok!

Jun : Hey, that's me!

It all started when I saw some very nice pictures of Danbo, a cardboard robot toy in Clubsnap. I started searching for pictures of other toys. And found that Revoltech toys are super cute where you can even change their face to show different expressions.

The toys have become super models for many photographers. Some of the pictures tell a story, or a joke. The toy that I wanted very much is actually Sony Cat. There's a white cat and a black cat. They also have a lot of funny expressions you can play around with. But the manufacturer has already stop production and it is now Out of Stock.

Well, this little bunny is also very cute and likable. Actually, I'm also eyeing on another Revoltech toy call Suzuki. It is a white robot with different faces. Maybe I'll get that for my Birthday.

My friends and I went to Marina Bay to check out the ilight displays and also to take some photos. However...

Basically, that is how we shoot. It was raining. We tried to take pictures while holding an umbrella. And the wind was there to make our hands shake more.

In the end, all my pictures were badly taken. They were either over exposed, under exposed, out of focus or blurred due to shaky hands.

Only a few is still bearable.

And I used photoshop to do some multi-exposure to make those blurred pictures look interesting.

We were so tired. It was a very long walk from The Sail to Marina Bay Sand to Esplanade to Fullerton Hotel. And I kept getting rain water on my lens.

I guess, I really don't know how to take night shoots. It is so difficult! I'll stick to broad day light shooting.

Multi-explosure effects done with photoshop. Really like the real multi-explosure done by films. But, it is quite expensive to get the camera and the films and the development fees altogether.

I found that many visitors to my blog checked out the entry titled "Blood Type Comic". Even though that entry was posted long long ago, it has been very popular until now.

So, here's some update. I found that the URL links (Chinese translated comics) is not active anymore. I don't know if they decided not update their blog anymore or they have moved. The original artist, Real Crazy Man had another page sorely for his blood type comics.

The original Korean blood type comic :
http://bloodabo.com/50089416601

I've found out that a book has been published. And it is in Chinese!
Name of the book is
韩国漫画血型书. Hope I can find it in Singapore.
http://product.dangdang.com/product.aspx?product_id=20817894&ref=read-2-C

You can see some translated comic below. It includes some new works.

and here (the translator's page) This page will be more updated. Click on "只看楼主“to skip all the comments by other readers.

I love this blood type comic. I'm AB+, and some of the things drawn are quite true. I was so surprise there is someone who finally understand me.

This is a limited edition doll that if you want it, you need to get picked in a lucky draw with buyers from countries outside Japan. There was only 200 available for this group of buyers. And I got it.

It was delivered by airmail. Reaches Singapore 1 day after they sent out from Japan, but reaches me 1 week later. Singpost really need to improve their services.

I was in the dilemma of which smart phone to get. (refer to previous blog entry)

In the end, I bought Samsung Galaxy S. Very thin and light. And most important of all, hummingbird is really fast!

I went to the PC Show on Friday. It wasn't as crowded as the previous IT Shows. I managed to get my hands on HTC Desire, Motorola Milestone X, and Samsung Galaxy S.

I already had the intention of getting a Desire before I went to the show. I really WAS going to get it. Had been doing so much research and find this phone very popular. However, I still want to try it 1st.

To my disappointment, Desire is rather slow when I tried it out at the Singtel booth. Especially when I compared it to the Galaxy S which I've tried out a minute ago. When I ask the HTC sales person why is it so slow, he said the network connection in the hall is quite bad. Then why is the Galaxy not affected? So, I thought, maybe it is Singtel's 3G network that slows the device down. Therefore, I headed towards the StarHub booth to check out the same device.

Many people were interested in the Desire and StarHub only had 1 display set to show. I waited for sometime before I finally get to try it out. It was also very slow. And the sales staff gave me the same reason. "Then why is the Galaxy S not affected?" I got puzzled.

I also tried out the Milestone X that was only released in S'pore a few days ago. Didn't like the screen. And it is quite heavy too. Not much to talk about. It is faster than Desire but slower than Galaxy S.

At that time, I really couldn't decide. I had wanted to get the Desire all these while and I had read that Samsung's software are not good. But as a irritating impatient person, I think that the speed is a very important factor when making the decision.

I walked around, and finally back to the Singtel booth. (Singtel is the sore retailer for Galaxy right now.  Other telecom will sell it at a later date) I tried the phone again, this time, I used the browser to check out my blog. And it was fast. Arh. I was so happy to see my 'Stress' cartoon on the smart phone. Therefore the speedy device won my heart.

Singtel had a lot of counters and I didn't need to wait long. A bit sad that they didn't throw in much gifts. Only a portable table stand where you can rest your phone on. Even after paying I was a bit confuse and don't know if I had made the right choice because you have to really be using the device for some time before you know if it is good.

With the big question mark on my mind, I didn't go on shopping around the other booths and went back home. I forgot to check out the Samsung booth for a carrying case. I also forgot to get a high storage micro sd card for the external storage. But I think should be fine since there is already 16GB internal sd storage in the phone. And 2GB of Rom for the apps.

I'm currently under stress. I can't decide which one to choose. Dilemma arh!
My choice will affect me. Whether I'll be happy or troubled.

I wanted a smart phone. But I'm still not 100% sure which one to get.
A Iphone has lots and lots of apps, and since the phone is so popular, the app market will continue to grow.

HTC Desire runs on Android which didn't has as much apps as Iphone but it has Flash. It is also slightly cheaper and newer. Iphone is already out in the market for quite sometime, it still cost $518 for the Flexi Lite plan in Singtel.

Other than the difference stated above, there are of course a lot more. But these 3 are my main concern.

Talk about the monthly data plan, it will also be more expensive than my current voice plan. Do I really need a smart phone? That's another question.

When I'm still debating over these 2 phones, another phone came out. The Samsung Galaxy S. I've managed to try out this phone and find the screen really good. It is so light and thin. What attracts me is, Singtel has a special Galaxy S plan that comes with free Mobile TV for 24 months. And no data charges on that. Despite that, I still feel that Samsung phones are not very good. And I can see a lot of users writing in the hardwarezone forum about the problems they have when using this phone.

I shall wait for this coming PC Show. Maybe I'll get my phone then. But, I still can't decide between Iphone and HTC Desire. Arh!!!

We had our dinner yesterday at Uncle Sam at City Square Mall.
But it didn't taste as good as the Hong Kong Claypot rice we had.

Boneless Chicken Rice.

Personally, I felt that the claypot rice at Marina Square Food Court is better than Uncle Sam's.

I've intended to go to the Canon Power in your hand seminar. But both my friend and I were late and we didn't make it. We went to have our lunch, follow by some photo shooting around the area.

We met L from Death Note in a food court. But I didn't stop him to take his picture.

The sun was very bright, blurring my vision. I couldn't see if the pictures were sharp or not in my lcd screen/ view finder. End up most pictures were badly taken.

But he made it in the end.
